FinCoHolic Community: polls, FAQs, and money topics
What the FinCoHolic Community offers for educational money discussions — polls, FAQs, and India-first topics.
The FinCoHolic Community is a signed-in area for educational discussions about personal finance in India — budgeting habits, salary structures, planner workflows, and money mindset. It is not a stock-tip forum, paid course marketplace, or investment advisory service. Think of it as a structured companion to the free calculators and blog: a place to see what other Indian households wonder about, answer polls, and read FAQs while we build deeper threaded discussions over time.
What you will find in Community today
After signing in with Google at /community/login, members can access:
• Home feed — curated cards on budgeting, salary planning, and FinCoHolic tool usage
• Polls — questions about savings habits, emergency fund sizes, and planner preferences (historical results for learning, not predictions)
• FAQs — common questions about take-home pay, 50/30/20 in INR, emergency fund sizing, and community conduct
• Forum rules — standards against spam, guaranteed-return schemes, and abusive behaviour
• Planner topics — eight topic blurbs linking back to Salary, Budget, Savings Rules, Goals, Emergency Fund, Wealth, Bonds, and Blog
Community content is moderated for spam and abuse. Member opinions are not FinCoHolic advice. We do not verify credentials of every poster — treat shared numbers as anecdotal.
How Community fits the FinCoHolic workflow
Use Community after you have numbers from the calculators so discussions reference real take-home pay, rent, or SIP capacity rather than abstract debates. Example: "My Budget shows 58% needs in Hyderabad — is that normal?" is more useful than "How much should I save?"
Polls and FAQs feed future blog articles and tool improvements. If 70% of poll respondents struggle with gross vs net salary, that confirms topics worth explaining on /blog — like our salary gross vs net article.
Sign-in and privacy
Community access uses Google OAuth through Auth.js. Google shares basic profile information (name, email, avatar) according to your Google account settings. We use this to identify members and reduce spam. See /privacy for data handling. Community pages are not indexed by search engines (/community/ is disallowed in robots.txt) — discussions are for members, not SEO landing pages.
Rules every member should read
Before posting, read /community/rules. Key principles:
• Educational tone — share experiences, not guaranteed returns
• No referral floods or affiliate spam
• No harassment or impersonation
• Respect privacy — do not share others' financial details
• No investment advice presented as professional counsel
Violations may lead to content removal or access suspension.
What Community is not
• Not a replacement for CA, lawyer, or SEBI-registered investment adviser
• Not real-time support — for bugs or account issues, email fincoholicadvisor@gmail.com via /support
• Not a promise of feature dates — threaded forums and live chat may ship in future releases
How to get the most value
1. Run Salary and Budget tools first
2. Browse FAQs (/community/faqs) for your question
3. Vote in polls (/community/polls) to see aggregate habits (anonymised in display)
4. Explore planner topics (/community/topics) linking to tools
5. When threaded discussions launch, bring specific INR numbers and goals for better peer learning
Future roadmap (transparent)
We describe Community as evolving — polls and FAQs today; richer threaded discussions in future releases. Early members help shape topics by participation. Feedback welcome at /support.
Trust and YMYL context
Personal finance is "Your Money Your Life" (YMYL) content for Google and regulators. Community posts must align with FinCoHolic's educational positioning — see /disclosures. We do not allow pump-and-dump stock chatter or unregistered investment advice.
Joining is free
Sign in at /community/login with Google. No payment required. If you prefer not to sign in, all calculators, blog articles, and bond guides remain fully public without Community access.
Educational only. Consult qualified professionals for tax, legal, and investment decisions specific to your situation.
